Will Jackson - Two Big Time Players That Had Great Nights

Two Big Time Players That Had Great Nights

Scouting Report (Dec. 10)

Will Jackson 6'4" PG Athens Christian 2015 (Athens, GA)

Silky smooth guard with great size. Has great vision and always seems to find teammates for easy baskets. Good athlete with good quickness.  Although he got to the basket at will all night he showed that he is a good shooter with deep range. Jackson scored 30pts and dished out 10 assists, but didn't stop there as he gave a great effort on the defensive end with 5 blocks. I will see him again on Tuesday against better and more athletic guards as i'm interested to see how he plays then. All in all I came away impressed and I think this kid has a huge upside.

Frank Booker - Player Profile

Player Spotlight

Dec. 6, 2012

Frank Booker 6'5" SG 2013 Westside (Augusta, GA)
Improved player from last year. Has range out to the parking lot. One of the best shooters in the country, but he has more to his game although he does not get credit for it. I have seen this kid several times over the last 2 years and the thing that I see in him that I love right now is his motivation to be the best player everytime he steps on the court. Frank is able to get his shot off the dribble much more easily than last year and loves the step back jump shot. He has great size and is an above average rebounder for a guard. Could be a better defender and will be once he arrives on somebody"s campus as that will be a requirement to get on the court. In two games this year he has scored 26 and 33 while sitting out majority of the 4th quarter in both games . Just as amazing as he is with shooting the basketball he has not slacked at all in the classroom while sporting a 3.7 G.P.A. If you are looking for a knock down shooter with ice in his vein's This is your guy!

Players That Caught My Eye

Scouting Report (Dec. 5)

T.J. Sheppard 5'10" PG 2013
Left-handed, athletic, and quick guard. Does a really good job of finishing in traffic, and explosive going to the basket. Likes the step-back jumper, uses his athleticism to get after it defensively. Streaky shooter from deep and looks more comfortable off the ball right now. (DII)

Ahmed Hill - Player Spotlight

Player Spotlight

December 3, 2012

Ahmed Hill 6'5" SG 2014 Aquinas (Augusta,Ga)

One of the best shooting guards in the country. He is at his best when he gets out in transition and shows off his athleticism by catching alley-oops or finishing with rim rattling dunks. I love that he gets his shots in three dribbles or less. Ahmed has an above average mid-range game where most of the time he gets to his spots and elevates over defenders and consistently knocks down shots. Due to his athleticism people tend
to overlook the fact that he is a very good three point shooter. The last game I watched he has improved at creating for others. If I had to point out a weakness in his game it would be on the ball defense although he is very capable and I feel will be a better defender at the next level when he has to defend. Off the court Ahmed is one of the most humble kids I have met. In the classroom he has a 2.9 G.P.A and is waiting to take the SAT. I think Ahmed can play in any of the major conferences in America and would be most effective in an up-tempo style of offense.

Players That Shined Over The Weekend

Scouting Report: Nov. 30 - Dec. 1

Damian Foreman 2014 PG 6'0" Evans (Ga)
Athletic guard who attacks the basket. Decent shooter from deep but not great. He has a good mid-range game. Scored 22 pts and was in the lane all night. Needs to create more for others to take his game to the next level. This was the best game he has played this season as he is still rusty from just getting off the football field.(DII)

Players That Shined Over The Weekend

Great shooter with deep range. This kid wants the ball with the game on the line. Very quick and athletic guard who does a good job creating space to get his shot. Would like to see him give a better effort on the defensive end, but overall he was good, as he went for 30pts in a 2pt win for his team. (DI-DII)

High motor. Played really well the first game 18 pts,12 rebs,7 blks. He didn't have the big numbers the next day but still affected the game with his presence drawing a double team and finding teammates for open looks. Relentless on the boards and a great help side defender. Made a few mid range shots and look comfortable shooting them. (DI-DII)

A streaky shooter with a high basketball IQ. Attacks the basket and does a good job of getting to the line. A very good pick-n-roll player. (DI)

Marcus Stroman- 6’1” PG Keenan (Columbia, SC)  2014
LEADER. In both games he willed his team to victory while over coming 4th quarter deficits. Very high basketball IQ and does everything his team needs to win. Attacks the basket to score and create for others. Plays at a good pace and never seems to be in a hurry. Great defender on and off the ball. Not a great shooter but made shots when he needed to. Committed to South Carolina. (DI)

Hoops Preview (Nov. 10)

Scouting Report

C.J. Turman- 6’9” PF Morgan County (Madison, GA)  2014
Has a very strong body. This was the most aggressive I've seen him as he threw down a few dunks in traffic with authority. Needs to work on his offensive game on the block. Good help side defender and does a good job of picking his spots to block shots or just coming over and being big. Has a big upside.  (DI)

Big time scorer with great range. He scores in bunches from all over the court. A good ball handler who gets to the basket with an array of moves. Loves to compete on both ends of the floor. Has a combination of strength and quickness which he uses to give guards fits on the defensive end. (DI)

Ronald Jones - Hoops Preview

Scouting Report

Ronald Jones- 6’5 PF Butler (Augusta, GA)  2013
Hard worker and does all the dirty work for his team. Has a good motor and is relentless on the offensive glass. He is a leader who plays every play like it's his last. If he can knock down the mid range Jump shot with consistency Jones could be a nice pick up for DII school who is looking for someone to rebound and score while not having to run plays for him. (DI-DII)

P.J. Dozier - Hoops Preview

Hoops Preview (Nov.10)
Augusta, GA

Scouting Report

P.J. Dozier- 6’5 PG Spring Valley (Columbia, SC)  2015

Potential, potential, and potential. He has the great size, skill set, and court awareness. At times he showed flashes of a star in the making and at others he was an average high school player. Very long and a decent athlete. Did not shoot the ball well although it is one of his strengths. Does a good job of creating for teammates.  (DI)

Dontae Coleman - Hoops Preview

Hoops Preview (Nov. 10)
Augusta, GA

Scouting Report

#25
Dontae Coleman- 6’3 PG Butler (Augusta, GA) 2015
Very aggressive offensively. Knocked down the 3 ball consistently and at times with defenders in his face. He has good size and has added muscle to his slender frame since I saw him play over the summer. Although he shot the ball well he attacked the basket at will and clearly was the best player on the court while out playing the more heralded P.J Dozier. Tremendous upside.  (DI)

Connor Sigrist - Fall Cup

Fall Cup (Oct. 27)
Augusta, GA

Scouting Report

Conner Sigrist- 6’7” PF Greenbrier (Evans,GA)  2013
Nice touch with 3pt range. When motivated can be a good offensive rebounder. He is more of a stretch 4 man similar to Ryan Anderson and could be very effective if he played with a true center. A very attractive player for a DIII school.       (DII-DIII)
(exert from ABR Live below)

Frank Booker - Fall Cup

Fall Cup (Oct. 27)
Augusta, GA

Scouting Report

Frank Booker - 6’5” SG Westside (Augusta, GA) 2013
One of the best shooters in the Country. Although he doesn’t get credit for doing much else, he is a competitor who plays hard on both ends. Throughout league play he got teammates involved. He really impressed by showing the ability to create off the dribble for himself and others. Booker surprised many with his athleticism as he had a put back dunk and a few above the rim blocks. (DI)

Rashon Taylor - Fall Cup

Fall Cup (Oct. 27)
Augusta, GA

Scouting Report

Rashon Taylor- 6’2” PG/SG Westside (Augusta, GA) 2014
The Fall League was the coming out party for this kid. He got better every week as he capped off the last week showing us that he could score from all over the floor. Taylor uses his size very well against smaller defenders and uses his quickness against bigger defenders. He did it all from getting to the basket at will to knocking down 3pt shots to hitting step back mid-range jump shots. (DII)

Dominic Brown - Fall Cup

Fall Cup (Oct. 27)
Augusta, GA

Scouting Report

Dominic Brown- 6’ SG Greater Augusta Independent School (GA)  2013
A much improved player who is very athletic and versatile on the floor. In the lane he does a great job of using his athleticism to finish shots. Brings a lot on the defensive end either on the ball or playing the passing lanes. At his size he needs to be a better ball handler. (DIII)

Matt Miller - Fall Cup

Matt Miller- 6’2” SG Greater Augusta Independent School (GA)  2013
Left hander with deep range. He is a hard working guy who is very crafty offensively that scores in a variety of ways. This kid never gives up on a play, loves the game, and is someone who I would love to have on my team. (DI-DII)

JaiKeenan Gant - Fall Cup

Fall Cup (Oct. 27)
Augusta, GA

Scouting Preview

JaĆKeenan Gant- 6’8 SF/PF South Effingham (Springfield, GA)   2014
Has a very high ceiling and will probably end up being a defensive player of the year candidate at the next level with his length, athleticism, and shot blocking ability. High energy guy who doesn’t need plays ran for him, he plays above the rim, is relentless on the offensive glass, and plays well off of his teammates. Although he is raw he has offensive skills with range out to the 3pt line. (DI)

Michael Scott - Fall Cup

Fall Cup (Oct. 27)
Augusta, GA

Scouting Report

Mike Scott- 5’10 PG Aquinas High School (Augusta, GA)    2014
Pure point guard who really looks to get his teammates going. He is an ok shooter but finishes well at the basket for his size. On the defensive end he brings a lot of energy and effort as he really gets into opposing point guards. Sometimes  he can be too unselfish and turn down shots for himself. (DI-DII)

Ahmed Hill - Fall Cup

Fall Cup (Oct. 27)
Augusta, GA

Scouting Report

Ahmed Hill- 6’5 SG Aquinas High School (Augusta, GA) 2014
Very explosive athlete. Can create his own shot off the bounce and is a good 3pt shooter . He possesses an above average mid-range game and usually does his damage in three dribbles or less. This player excels in transition and is a great finisher in traffic. Could be better at creating for others but I think that will come over time as he is only a Junior. (DI)
